JOSEPHINE “JO” DUNAGAN

GOLDEN CITY- A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Golden City Community Building in Golden City for Josephine “Jo” Ellen Dunagan, 77, Golden City, who died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.

Contributions are suggested and made payable to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, in care of Daniel Funeral Home.

Survivors include a son, Roy Dunagan, Golden City; one daughter, Heidi Kaderly and husband Don, Golden City; four grandchildren, Hope Dunagan, Hanna Dunagan and husband Joel, Hadyn Dunagan and Gage Brous; two brothers, Pat Ewing and wife Sissy and Mark Ewing, several nieces and nephews and her dear friend, Jan Button.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee; a brother, Willie Ewing and a sister, Ann Ewing.

Mrs. Dunagan was born Jan. 15, 1946, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Willie Mark Ewing and Edna Mae (Neal) Ewing. She married Sherrill Lee Dunagan on Dec. 20, 1973. He died in 1993.

Mrs. Dunagan was a housewife who loved to bake, sew and crochet. You could often find her outside in her flower beds or garden and she also loved to fish and hunt. Her grandchildren were her greatest pride and joy. She was also a member of the Barton County Eagles No. 4405.
