August 8 2023 Special Election Unofficial Results

GOLDEN CITY- A special election was held Tuesday, Aug. 8, in the County of Barton, in order to decide whether the City of Golden City should issue its combined waterworks and sewerage system revenue bonds in the amount of $4,000,000 for the purpose of extending and improving the city’s waterworks system, the cost of operation and maintenance of said combined waterworks and sewerage system and the principal of an interest on said revenue bonds to be payable solely from the revenues derived by the city from the operation of its combined waterworks and sewerage system, including all future improvements and extensions thereto?

The unofficial report showed that out of a total 501 registered voters, 108 ballots were cast at 21.56 percent. There were 78 yes votes, or 72.22 percent and 30 no votes, or 27.78 percent.
