Activities abound at Sheldon Old Settlers Picnic

The 119th Annual Sheldon Old Settlers Picnic was held at the Sheldon City Park on Thursday through Saturday, Aug. 17-19. Various activities that took place during the three day picnic included various agricultural exhibits, arts, crafts, sewing and painting and 4-H club exhibits, canned goods, flowers, plants, photography and a quilt show, party station rides and inflatables, an ice cream social, crowning of picnic royalty as well as a baby show, various musical entertainment and a street dance, a lawn tractor pull, a 5K Run/Walk, a breakfast to benefit the senior class, kids races and games, horseshoe pitching, a watermelon feed, a pedal tractor pull along with an antique and classic tractor pull and a car and bike show and a parade down Main Street with Ed and Jeanie Fowler serving as grand marshals. The picnic is held yearly on the third weekend of August.
