The material to build a handicapped accessible floating boat dock system arrived at Lodge of Hope on Wednesday morning, Aug. 30. Personnel from EZ Dock, along with area volunteers, worked throughout the day and into the next in order to get the dock set up. All in all there were 18 sections that made up the dock, with the largest sections measuring 6 ½ foot by 10 foot. A special kayak launch was included with the dock that will enable individuals to go directly from their wheelchair to the kayak. Materials for the dock are manufactured in Monett, with EZ Dock of North Dakota furnishing the product worldwide. Peterson Outdoor Ministries would like to recognize EZ Dock for having faith in their mission to help veterans and those with disabilities. More information and pictures will appear in an upcoming edition of the paper.
