She was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Burt and three sisters, Norma Jean Hill, Lois Hoenshell and Barbara Sunderland.
Mrs. Heiskell was born July 29, 1936, in Carthage, to Leslie and Myrtle (Hatfield) Burt. She was a 1954 graduate of Carthage High School and married Franklin Heiskell on July 21, 1956, in a ceremony in her parent’s backyard. In 1967 they moved from Carthage to their farm in the Lockwood area where she was a homemaker, mother of four children (Sherry, Mike, Tracy, and Leslie) and a cook for Lockwood schools for eight years. There are many stories of her heart-warming, positive impact on area students. She enjoyed reading, cooking for her family and especially Christmas baking with her daughters and granddaughters.
One of her absolute greatest joys came in loving on, and spending time with, her 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. They were, without a doubt, her favorite pastime. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and active in the area community for many years.
