Tigers are victorious over Big 8 West opponent

Filling in for injured Alex Wilkerson, Torbeck did a good job in his first varsity start, running for about 130 yards. The Tigers will host Seneca Friday evening in a game that could decide the Big 8 West championship. The Tigers are rated No. 1 in Class 2, while the Indians are rated No. 3 in Class 3. Both teams are 3-0, with Seneca holding their three opponents scoreless. Come out to Thomas M. O'Sullivan Stadium and cheer the Tigers on to victory.

Alyssa Mitchell, an incoming junior at Lamar High School who is a member of the Tiger tennis team, recently placed second in singles in the Lebanon Tournament. She played in four matches that included players from Lebanon, Republic, Branson, Waynesville and Springfield. Alyssa’s parents are Joanna Moore and Ron Delrosario, Lamar. Ron began Alyssa’s tennis career at the age of 10 and has dedicated many years to help her get to where she currently is.

Drone photo by Joe Davis A capacity crowd at the Barco Drive-In was a site to behold on Friday night, July 19. According to Scott Kelley, theatre manager, sales are cut off at 310 cars and unfortunately some had to be turned away. No fears though as Twisters A Quiet Place, rated PG-13, will be playing at the drive-in every night through Thursday, July 25. An interesting note – The original Twisters movie that was released in 1996 proved to be a sell out as well.
