Local trucks participate in Guilty By Association Truck Show

Lamar Democrat/Nadine Pattison Several local trucks made their way to Joplin, where Chrome Shop Mafia and 4 State Trucks held their biannual truck show known fondly in the trucking community as GBATS. The three day event took place from September 21-23, with activities for the whole family ranging from monster truck rides, petting zoos, food trucks, vendor booths and the coolest trucks from miles around including Lamar and Jasper. Weather may have dampened some of the plans, but nothing a good shammy towel couldn't wipe away. With so much excitement about these working show trucks there is already buzz about the next Guilty By Association Truck Show that is set to take place in 2025.

Lamar’s Promenade 2025 was held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, at the Wyatt Earp Park. Prom attendees entered from the back of the stage and were announced as they walked across the stage, down the stairs and then up the walkway. Thankfully the weather allowed the promenade to be held at the park, with a large crowd gathering to view the many seniors prior to attending their prom that was held at the Gaderian in Carthage.

Naomi Schneider, daughter of Luke and Tanya Schneider, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. In her free time Naomi enjoys horseback riding, fishing with her brother, drawing, listening to music and playing outside. She has ducks, geese, horses, a dog, outside cats, chickens, bunnies and turkeys. Some things that are important to Naomi are family, grades and pets.
