CAROL SUE “SUSIE” ROBY

LAMAR- A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, at the Roby Campground in Lamar, for Carol Sue “Susie” Roby, 78, Lamar, who died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023, at Cox Barton County Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.

Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home. Please check their website for map/directions to the campground.

Survivors include her husband, Carl Roby; three sons, Terry Roby and wife Kristina, Lamar, Travis Roby and wife Lisa, Golden City and Trent Roby and wife Krystle, Lamar; two daughters, Tammy Blackard, Lamar and Teresa Buck and husband Travis, Lamar; one brother, Frank Arnold and wife Pat, Nevada, Mo.; 18 grandchildren, Holly (Eddie), April (Que), Sunny (Austin), Jimmy, Dominique (Justin), Emily, Raleigh (Chelsea), Justin (Whitney), Timothy (Nicole), Jessica (Robert), Jedidiah (Kayla), Clara, Jennifer (Greg), TJ, Thomas (Olivia), Trinity, Tyler and Temperance and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Charles Arnold, Homer Arnold and Freddy Arnold and a granddaughter, Kayla Roby.

Mrs. Roby was born Sept. 20, 1945, in Barton County, to William Cleveland “Cleve” Arnold and Ruby Jane (Voorhees) Arnold (Rahme). She was a 1963 graduate of Lamar High School. She married Carl James Roby on Nov. 20, 1964, at the Church of Nazarene in Lamar.

Mrs. Roby worked as a food service supervisor at Barton County Memorial Hospital for over 30 years. She also worked at the Blue Top Restaurant and Pappa's Pizza. She was a Girl Scout Troop leader and taught Bible school at the Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, working in her flower beds, gardening, canning, watching the K.C. Chiefs and cooking Sunday dinners for her family. She loved spending time with her family and the time she spent with her grandchildren was extra special.
