HELEN FRANCES GARDNER

LAMAR- Funeral services will be held at 11 am. Tuesday at Lamar Christian Church for Helen Frances Gardner, 91, Lamar, who died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023, at her home, surrounded by family. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to service time, beginning at 10 a.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home.
Contributions are suggested and made payable to the Barton County Senior Citizens Center, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include three sons, Kenton Wayne and wife Martha, Jeffrey Dean Gardner and wife Courtney and Scott Nelson Gardner; one daughter, Teresa Diane Moore and husband Edwin; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother, Clint Butler.
Mrs. Gardner was born Oct. 10, 1932, in Fair Play, to William Lester Butler and Ethel Elizabeth (Jeffries) Butler. She married her high school sweetheart, Othal Wayne Gardner, on March 25, 1951, in Lamar.
She worked as an optometric technician and was a member of Lamar Christian Church.
Mrs. Gardner was devoted to her family and enjoyed attending her children’s, grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s sporting events and school activities. She loved to bake and if you were lucky enough, she would often share these goodies.
