2023: 11-1,22 Liberal School Board Filing

NOTICE OF FILING FOR LIBERAL R-II BOARD OF EDUCATION

Qualified applicants for the Liberal R-II Board of Education may file for office beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 and will continue during the district’s regular business hours, which are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Except for the first and last day of filing, filing will not occur on days that the school district’s central office is closed due to inclement weather. The Board of Education Office will also be closed during Christmas recess beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. Filing will resume for one day only on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., which is the end of the filing period for the April 2, 2024 election.

Filing is required to take place in the Liberal R-II Schools Board/Superintendent Office located at 107 S. Paine, Liberal, Missouri. Filing shall be done with Wendy Rose – Superintendent Secretary, Eli Short – Board Secretary or Ron Mitchell – Superintendent. The names of qualified candidates will be placed on the ballot in order of filing. Any questions regarding the qualifications of candidacy or how to submit candidacy information via certified mail should be directed to the Board/Superintendent Office.

The terms of Denise James and John Simpson will be expiring in April 2024. Two Board members will be elected.
