Thorco Alumni, Family & Friends Reunion

Around 50 former Thorco associates gathered from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, for the The Thorco Alumni, Family & Friends Reunion. The event was held at the Thiebaud Auditorium meeting rooms in Lamar. Special guest Ken Howard, former owner, arrived at the event to the applause of his former associates. Each attendee had the opportunity to make a few remarks to the group. Tentative plans are to hold the event annually.

Lamar’s Promenade 2025 was held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, at the Wyatt Earp Park. Prom attendees entered from the back of the stage and were announced as they walked across the stage, down the stairs and then up the walkway. Thankfully the weather allowed the promenade to be held at the park, with a large crowd gathering to view the many seniors prior to attending their prom that was held at the Gaderian in Carthage.

Naomi Schneider, daughter of Luke and Tanya Schneider, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. In her free time Naomi enjoys horseback riding, fishing with her brother, drawing, listening to music and playing outside. She has ducks, geese, horses, a dog, outside cats, chickens, bunnies and turkeys. Some things that are important to Naomi are family, grades and pets.
