ROY LEHMAN

LAMAR- Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Lamar for Roy Malcolm Lehman, 95, Lamar, who died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023.
A visitation was held prior to the service, beginning at 10 a.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Thelma Lehman; sons, Jerald Lehman and wife Connie and Allen Lehman and wife Lisa; twin daughters, Kenda Garfield and Karma Hartong and husband Mark, all of Lamar and grandchildren, Nicole Osborne and husband Micah, Brandon Lehman and wife Brittanii, Kelsey Parker and husband Brandon, Whitney Begley and husband Jeffrey, Parker Garfield and wife Ciara, Alison Hedrick and husband Mitchell and Taylor Doran and husband Austin. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, Eli and Ella Osborne, Trentyn, Talia, Jaidyn and Jaxton Lehman, Karson and Sophia Parker, Macey Garfield, Gracee and baby boy Garfield, Lane and baby Hedrick and Lydia, Delilah and Violet Doran.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Penni Lehman; a son-in-law, Mark Garfield and sisters, Fern Norris, Donna Mae McColm, Mary Ann Faith, Jenny Routon and infant sister, Geraldine.
Mr. Lehman was born May 16, 1928, in Iantha, to Guy and Eunice (Hughes) Lehman. He graduated from Liberal High School in 1946 and married Thelma Johnston on November 5, 1950.
He honorably served in the United States Army as Corporal from January 1951 to December 1952. During the Korean War he was stationed in the artillery unit behind Heartbreak Ridge.
He was a lifelong farmer in rural Barton County, who spent his life working hard and providing for his wife and five children. He rarely missed any of his children and grandchildren’s school programs and sporting events. He was known for “Roy-isms,” delivered with perfect timing and a smirk. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends, who will miss him greatly.
