First snow of 2024 delights many

Lamar Democrat/Nadine Pattison The first snowfall of 2024 came on January 8 and 9, with rainfall also thrown in during that time for good measure. Although the snow was forecast for later in the day, it appeared early Monday morning as if by magic and was soon displaced by rain. Snow and rain fell throughout the day and into Tuesday. A total two day measurement of precipitation by the University Extension Weather Center was .97 of an inch.
