Jerry McGill

LAMAR- A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22, at the Lamar Living Hope Church of the Nazarene for Jerry McGill, 76, Lamar, who died Friday, Jan. 19, 2024.
Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie; children, Tracey Carey and husband Gordon, Salina, Kan., Cindy Kinsey and husband William, Salina, Kan., Gerry Huse and wife Jennifer, Salina, Kan., Charles Huse, Verona and Frankie Huse, Aurora and grandchildren, Gordon, Chelsey, Zackery, Tiff, Dom, Paige, Kayla, Charles Jr., Nichole, Jesse, Rachelle, Luke and Jayden. He is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren and a sister, Diane Gibson of Boise, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. McGill was born in Mt. Clemens, MI to Gerald and Ines McGill. He was raised by his grandfather in Mississippi and then moved to Clinton, MI as a teen before moving to Kansas City, Mo.
He married Nellie Eutsler Huse on Nov. 13, 1985, in Pacific and not only became her loving husband, but a wonderful father to her five children. They lived most of their lives together in Marionville before moving to Lamar.
He worked at the Ice Plant in Monett and then worked for Mr. Grave, painting and was also a self-employed painter. In Lamar he worked in shipping and receiving for O’Sullivan’s.
He enjoyed fishing and built model die cast cars. He also liked shooting pool, throwing darts and horseshoes. He loved his children and was always there for them. They have many great memories with him that included water hose wars, mud fights, sledding and camping as a family. He doted on his grandchildren. He will be missed by many.
