The newly acquired 1999 Freightliner Model FL80 fire truck that was recently purchased from the Nevada (Mo.) Fire Department will be on display to the public at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7, in front of the Lamar Fire Department/Memorial Hall. The truck features a 75 foot hydraulic ladder and at one time was used to help fight the fire in Lamar that occurred on the northwest corner of the Lamar square. Following certification and some small repairs that were done in Republic, the truck is now completely operational. Lamar Fire Chief Rick Heinen, along with several members of the fire department, will be on hand to display the many functions offered by the truck.
