LAMAR- Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at the Golden City Mennonite Fellowship in Newport for Eileen Rose Yannayon, 73, Lamar, who died Monday, Feb. 5, 2024, at Cox Barton County Hospital.

A visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8, at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Yannayon and wife Amanda and Arthur Yannayon; two daughters, Adina Coblentz and husband Jonathon and Judy Good and husband Jacob; 14 grandchildren; two sisters, Rosalyn Mazelin and Julia Mazelin and three brothers, Harvey Mazelin and wife Mary Anne, Robert Mazelin and Herman Mazelin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Yon; a daughter, Susan, who died in 1996 from AML leukemia and a sister, Martha.

Mrs. Yannayon was born May 23, 1950, at Ethridge, Tenn., to Bernard and Lina Mazelin. She married Yon Yannayon on Dec. 23, 1975, in Lynchburg, Tenn. He died from cancer on April 27, 2001.

Mrs. Yannayon was a loving grandmother. She really enjoyed her garden and always had the most beautiful flowers. She enjoyed working for Erick and Erica Burton in their home for over 20 years. Their two boys, Conner and Evan, were very special to her. In the last few years since her cancer diagnosis she baked many cookies to sell at Sunny Gardens.

She accepted Christ as her Savior in her youth and served Him faithfully throughout her life. Her faithful example was an inspiration to many. She enjoyed her church family and was a member of the Golden City Mennonite Fellowship Church.

The family wants to thank everyone for the support and encouragement that was shown through the many prayers and food during her passing.
