New boat dock cuts barriers for those with disabilities

Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger It was a blustery morning on Saturday, March 9, as Robert Duke and Josh Shannon tried out the new kayak launch on the newly installed EZ Dock system at Lodge of Hope. Prior to the demonstration, a plaque of appreciation was presented to Chris Travis of EZ Dock and CT Engineering, along with recognition of volunteers and first responders and a presentation by Jimmy Burgess, who along with his wife Misty, had furnished the NuCanoe kayaks that were used during the demonstration.
