Twenty fourth graders at Liberal Elementary and 19 sixth graders from Liberal Middle School recently wrapped up a three week journey thanks to the 4-H SNAC program. The days were filled with a multi-disciplinary path of nutrition education, publications, hands-on applications and leadership. Also offered was Kids in the Kitchen, a nutritional curriculum. According to 4-H Youth Program Associate Elaine Davis, the project provided an opportunity to share 4-H with students who are not exposed to traditional 4-H clubs, while teaching proper nutrition and leadership. The project was made possible with a grant through Missouri 4-H and Healthy Blue.
