FLORA SMITH
LAMAR-Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Cheney Witt Chapel in Fort Scott, Kan., for Flora Rosella Smith, 98, Lamar, who died Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at Truman Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Lamar. Pastor Sandy Stallings will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Wright Russell and husband Gerald and Louise Mix, all of Ft. Scott, Kan.; two sons, Richard Smith, Pittsburg, Kan. and Larry Smith and wife Barbara, Lamar; 11 grandchildren and several great and great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Melvin and Harold Smith, two brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Smith was born Sept. 9, 1917, in Bourbon County, Kan., to George C. and Grace (Koontz) Reno. She enjoyed singing, playing the guitar and the harmonica, as well as sewing and working with her flowers. She also liked to travel, especially taking trips to Branson. In earlier years she attended the Grace Baptist Tabernacle in Ft. Scott, Kan.
She married Clark Henry Smith on Jan. 28, 1938, in Nevada, Mo. He died June 30, 2002.
