JESSIE HIGHFIELD
WEST PLAINS-Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at Kosh Cemetery for Jessie Leonna Highfield, 90, West Plains, who died at 2 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, at Barton County Memorial Hospital.
Arrangements are under the direction of Carter's Funeral Home.
Donations may be made to the Kosh Cemetery Board.
Survivors include a daughter, Millie Billington and husband Larry, Cherokee, Kan.; grandchildren, Les Brazeal and wife Linsey, Golden City, Sigie Crockett and husband Mike, Lamar, Kimi Stephens, Desoto, Kan., Brandon Brummett and wife Jamie, Golden City, Clint Highfield, West Plains and Robin McCormick, Kansas City; great-grandchildren, Shayna, Cooper, Zac, Emily, Nic, Collin, Carter, Cora, Cami, Jessie Jo, Dawson, Mason, Chris, Madison, Cierra, Mackenzie and Emily and 11 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Vaughn and Ernest Vaughn; two sisters, Mildred Dills and Maxine Dills; a son, Don Highfield and a grandson, Wesley Highfield.
Mrs. Highfield was born Feb. 20, 1926, in Koshkonong, to Richard and Minnie Vaughn. She was a Christian woman in faith, baptized in the waters of Warm Fork. She and her husband owned and operated a dairy/farm operation. She liked to sew, cross stitch and cook and she really loved walking, covering most every street in Golden City.
She married Ralph A. Highfield on Sept. 6, 1947. He preceded her in death.
