SPRINGFIELD-A private service will be held at a later date for Deloris “Marlene” Boyd, 71, Springfield, who died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Burial will be at Blue Mount Cemetery in Blue Mound, Kan.

Survivors include a son, Larry Michael Boyd; a sister, Imogene Brooks and husband Berton; a nephew, Kevin Brooks and wife Emmalee; great nieces and nephews, Tiffany Brooks, Kyle Brooks, Aaron Rowell and Robby Van Horn, along with cousins and many friends. Also left behind are her two pet poodles, Holly and Cuddles.

She was preceded in death by an ex-husband, Larry Boyd and a niece, Lisa Rowell.

Mrs. Boyd was born April 20, 1944, in Lamar, to Clarence and Charlotte Artzt. She was a Lamar High School graduate. Following graduation she moved to Kansas City, Mo. and married Larry Boyd. She moved to St. Joseph and worked there for several years. She moved back to Lamar and had worked at O'Sullivan Industries until it closed. She then moved to the Joplin area and worked for home health in that area. She moved to the Springfield area two years ago. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
