Annual Fish With A Cop held May 9

It was a beautiful day on Friday, May 9, as Lamar sixth grade students participated in Fish With A Cop. It was noted that a few of the kids were lucky enough to catch a fish. Afterwards, everyone enjoyed a fish and fried potato meal furnished and prepared by the Missouri Department of Conservation. All of those who help give these students this experience are appreciated.

April East Primary Tigers of the Month
Community Safety Net “Rural Safety” Smart Choices for Life was held April 30, at the Liberal school. Livestock Field Specialist Patrick Davis, PhD, serving Barton County University of Missouri Extension, coordinated the rural initiative that identifies knowledge as an important tool in preventing various accidents and injuries, along with assistance from 4-H Youth Associate Elaine Davis.

The Barton County Backyard Laying Hen workshop was held Saturday, May 10, at the Wolf Center in Lamar. Twenty-eight adults and youth were involved with the program where they learned basic information that was provided free of charge to those attending.
