State qualifiers head to Jefferson City

Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger Lamar High School state qualifying students left the high school at about 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, as they earned the right to participate in the State Track and Field meet to be held in Jefferson City. Following group pictures, the students and coaches loaded up on the bus and they were escorted out of town by Lamar Police Officer Mitchell Shaw.

Unfortunately, due to storms, the April event had to be canceled and from the looks of it, the May event more than made up for it.
