LINDA SUE PARKER

CARTHAGE-Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mitchell Cemetery, outside of Jasper, for Linda Sue Parker, 61, who died Friday, March 25, 2016, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kan.
Visitation will be held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage.

Survivors include her mother, Lois Young; two sisters, Brenda Felts, Lamar and Lisa Overman, Columbus; one son, Shane Parker, Great Bend; two daughters, Desiree Baudin, Orlando and Sheena Parker, Dighton and three grandchildren, Jada Baudin, Orlando, Braiden Parker, Dighton and Jaxon Baudin, Orlando.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Young; a brother, David Young and a sister, Carol Gastel.
Mrs. Parker was born Nov. 22, 1954, in Carthage, to Clifford and Lois (Wilson) Young. She was a graduate of Jasper High School and attended Crowder College in Neosho. After her first marriage she moved to Dighton and worked at Farmers Oil, then opened Countryside Day Care, which she had for 13 years. She later worked at John's Boot Shop and was a para at Dighton Grade School. She was a member of the Dighton Jaycees and enjoyed sewing, gardening, yard work and anything outdoors. Her special love was taking care of her grandchildren.
She married Paul Parker on May 18, 1974, in Carthage. She married Dennis Selfridge on Sept. 22, 1997, in Dighton.
