Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger A retirement celebration in honor of outgoing Barton County Assessor Rick Johnson was held Monday, Aug. 25, 2 p.m., to 4 p.m., at the Barton County Courthouse. A full house was present to enjoy a spread offered of come and go delictables, along with punch and lots of memories and laughter. A special presentation was given to Johnson by Barton County Presiding Commissioner David Johnson, recognized Rick for his eight years of service to the county. Chad Johnson will be taking the office come September 1.
