Juniors earn Spirit Stick

The 2025 Lamar Homecoming Parade traveled from the high school on Friday, Oct. 3, around the square and ending up at the Wyatt Earp Park for a community pep rally. Game were played by homecoming candidates Trent Torbeck and Baylee Heckadon, Brody Gardner and Keely Taffner and Gavin Ogden and Calli Harris, followed by senior football players speaking to the large crowd that had gathered. Lamar Athletic Director Kent Keith came up, along with Lou Mazzocco, assistant executive director for MSHSAA, who recognized Coach Jared Beshore as the 2024 MSHSAA/NFHS Coach of the Year for football. “MO”, the MSHSAA mascot, was also present. Beshore spoke to the football boys, along with Lamar Tiger No. 28, Gabe Johnson, encouraging those attending to come out and support the Tigers. At the end of the rally it was announced that the junior class had won the Spirit Stick for this year.
