LAMAR-Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Milford Christian Church for Garry Lee Goodloe, 68, who died Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Truman Healthcare Center in Lamar. Burial will follow in Howell Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Milford Christian Church youth group.

Survivors include his wife, Donna, of the home; a daughter, Amy Lee Goodloe and companion, Tony Hubbard, Austin, Texas; a son, Garry Lee Goodloe Jr. and wife Becky, Ottawa, Kan., and a stepson, Bernie Ray McDowell and wife Judy, Gardner, Kan.; five grandchildren and two brothers, Bobby Joe Goodloe, Skiatook, Okla. and David Paul Goodloe, Cummings, Ga.

Mr. Goodloe was born March 29, 1948, in Pratt, Kan., to Harold “Wirt” and Betty Jo (Hurt) Goodloe. He grew up in Nowata, Okla., helping his dad farm and attended the Nowata public schools. He was in the U.S. Army, serving three tours with a Special Services unit in Vietnam.

For many years he lived near Overland Park, Kan., and worked in the greater Kansas City area. He was a skilled welder and a certified mechanical engineer. He married Donna D. Young in the fall of 2000 and they moved to Barton County, settling near Milford. He worked for O'Sullivan Industries, and later for Epoch. He was a member of the Milford Christian Church and in his free time he enjoyed time spent with his family and farming.
