RICHARD “BRUCE” BELLINE
January 15, 2026
Richard “Bruce” Belline, age 81, of Lamar, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and faithful servant of his community and his Lord, Bruce leaves behind a legacy of integrity, generosity, and love.
Bruce was born in Carthage, Missouri, to Leonard and Annette (Lunsford) Belline. He graduated from Lamar High School in 1962 and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Pittsburg State University. Following his education, Bruce proudly served four years in the United States Air Force.
Bruce dedicated more than 51 years to a successful career as an insurance agent with Shelter Insurance, where he built lasting relationships grounded in trust and service. His work ethic and commitment reflected the values by which he lived his life.
In 1966, Bruce married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Sharon Starlin, at the Lamar Methodist Church. Together, they raised three children, built a thriving business, and created a beautiful life rooted in faith and family.
A long-time member of the Lamar Methodist Church, Bruce was deeply involved in youth leadership, men’s and couples’ Bible studies, and church life. In 1975, Bruce gave his life to the Lord, a decision that transformed his life and shaped every path he walked thereafter.
Community was central to who Bruce was. He was a member of the Freedom Singers Quartet for more than 30 years, sharing his love of music and worship. He also served faithfully through Rotary Club—where he was president—Lamar Community Betterment, The Gideons, the Lamar Community Foundation Board, and financially supported the AOK organization. Whether through leadership or quiet service, Bruce consistently gave back to the community he loved.
Family was Bruce’s greatest joy. He was a devoted coach to his children and grandchildren, believing deeply in giving back by investing in the next generation. He cherished time spent with family, whether traveling to the mountains, snow skiing, water skiing, hunting, fishing, or enjoying a round of golf.
Bruce is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon Belline; his children, Camma (Brian) Griffith of Lamar, Missouri; Lance (Jess) Belline of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and Trevor (Alicia) Belline of Tontitown, Arkansas; and his grandchildren, Britta, Braxton, and Boden Belline; Cade and Elliana Griffith; Deegan, Dalton, and Jolene Strickland. He is also survived by his brothers, Bob Belline of St. Louis, Missouri, and Louis (Wanda) Belline of Atlanta, Georgia, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Annette and L.A. Belline; his sister-in-law, Betty Belline; and his nephew, Mark Belline.
Bruce Belline’s life was a testament to faith, family, and faithful service. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know him.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday January 18, 2026 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Lamar Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held on Monday January 19, 2026 at Lamar Methodist Church at 10:00 am.
