BOBBIE CHAPPELL
GOLDEN CITY-Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, at First Baptist Church in Golden City for Bobbie Carole Chappell, 77, Golden City, who died Friday, April 8, 2016, at Truman Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Lamar. Pastor Tom Welch officiated. Burial was in First Christian Church I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Pugh Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family for funeral expenses or to First Baptist Church in Golden City.
Survivors include a daughter, Arletta Randles and her significant other, Wanda, Roanoke, Texas; a son, Bobby Dean Smith and wife Hazel, Kansas City, Kan.; nine grandchildren, John M. Liddle, Samantha J. Santos, Alayna L. Santos, Jolee A. Santos, Isla B. Galvez, Guadalupe M. Galvez, Bryan Smith, Adrian Borsella and Amanda Borsella and five great-grandchildren, Melody R. Smith, Christiana J. Smith, Bryanna L. Winsea, Leland C. Winsea III and Annabelle Borsella.
Mrs. Chappell was born Jan. 24, 1939, in Joplin, to Bob and Daisy (Kirk) Dodson. She grew up in Joplin and had been married to Robert Dean Smith. After her divorce she married David William Chappell on May 4, 2011, in Miami, Okla. He preceded her in death on March 9, 2010.
She and her husband then relocated to the Golden City area. She enjoyed swimming, music, dancing, crocheting and Indian dolls. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Golden City, the Lions Club and helped with the scheduling of the OATS bus program.
