Picnic in the Park opens for 2026 season

Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger The first Picnic in the Park for 2026 is being held Thursday, March 26, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., at the Lamar City Park. It is a beautiful, although somewhat windy day and from the looks of those taking advantage of the wide variety of “goodies” offered, it is worth the wait. The food trucks take a hiatus over the winter and will be here on the third Thursday of the month (except for August, due to the Lamar Free Fair).
