A patriot parade was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, in conjunction with Truman Day and a celebration of this country’s 250th birthday. The parade began at 2 p.m., with the entries leaving from Moore Pavilion, traveling south down the east side of the Lamar square, where they turned east on 11th Street to the Truman Birthplace. From there they headed north on Truman Street, then west on 10th Street, returning to the pavilion. A wide array of entries made for a very colorful and entertaining parade. Of course the parade wouldn’t have been complete without Harry himself bringing up the rear.
