TERESA IRENE WOOD

Teresa Irene Wood, age 64, of Lamar, Missouri, passed away June 5,2026 at her home. Teresa was born May 7th, 1962 in Pittsburg, Kansas, to Jerry and Jill Benedict. She graduated from Pittsburg State University in 1992, and dedicated her professional life to the field of social work, helping others.

She is survived by one son, Aaron Wood, of Lamar, Missouri, and one daughter, Astra (Jerrad) Ferris, of Fort Dodge, Iowa. One brother, Tim (Deb) Benedict of Jane, Missouri and one sister, Tina Tang, of Prescott, Arizona, and many nieces and nephews. She was extremely proud of her five grandchildren, Gavin, Sage, Elise, Laryn, and Elijah.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and grandson Jordan Ferris. She enjoyed painting, blues music, collecting rocks, crystals, and plants, and spending time with her loved ones. 

A celebration of life will be held at her family home in Lamar, Missouri, on Saturday June 13th, 2026 at 5 p.m.
