Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger
Longtime Lamar resident Carol Burch celebrated her 65th birthday on Friday, June 26, with family, friends and classmates who gathered at Tractor’s to recognize this special lady. Carol graduated with the Lamar High School Class of 1980 and on her class trip she became fast friends with many of her fellow students, never realizing that the friends she made on that trip would play such a major role in her life. Carol received many presents, but the one that brought her to tears was a Lamar Tiger t-shirt quilt. Classmates had gathered various t-shirts recognizing the Tigers, then sent them off to have a quilt made. Although Carol presently lives up near Kansas City, she will always think of Lamar as her hometown and from the love that is shown to her, it always will be.
