GLORIA JUNE SMITH

Gloria June Glunt (McKinney, Libeer, Smith) June 10, 1930 – August 20, 2026.

Born June 10, 1930 in Wichita, Kansas to Victor Hugo and Manta Jane (Maddox) Glunt.

She was the youngest daughter of eight children. Paul, Vivian, Wendall, Wilma, Robert Roy and Kenneth. They all proceeded her in death. Her oldest son, Pfc. Albert (Billy) William Mckinney Jr. and the love of her life, Loyd Edward Smith, proceeded her in death as well.

Gloria was a homemaker. She loved fishing, being outside and an ice cold Coco-Cola near her. She collected Coke items from clothing to bottles. She loved to quilt and made several quilts by hand until her fingers gave out. Then she moved on to a quilting machine until her last stroke prevented her from standing. She loved to play video games. She bought a Ninetendo with Mario Brothers, Zelda, Commando. She kept her grandkids and neighbor kids entertained and an occasional son in law. Staying up half the night just playing Mario Brothers. She loved her chickens and her goats. She was a rock to her six children Albert W. McKinney Jr., Cheri L. McKinney Snow, Victor R. Libeer, Michael A. Libeer (Shannon), Teresa M. Libeer Hall and Catherine J. Libeer Ross. And her stepchildren Barbara Smith Dearing, David Smith and Carol Smith. Ruthellen Smith and Debra Smith Larson, who also proceeded her in death. She lived in Missouri and California (she said was her favorite place because we lived a few blocks from the ocean). After the death of her oldest son she took her children to Humansville, Missouri to live on a farm. 

She married Loyd Edward Smith September 7, 1974.

After marrying Loyd they moved a few years later to Jasper, Missouri to be close to his mom and dad, Jack and Vera Smith. They lived there until March of 2005. They then moved to Arkansas with her daughter Catherine. In her last days she talked about her children and grandchildren and how much she loved them.

She will be remembered by numerous family members, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Celebration will be in Jasper, 100 Grand Avenue.
