LAMAR-Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at Konantz Warden Funeral Home for Oliver Willard “Bud” Campbell, 86, who died Sunday, May 22, 2016, at Truman Healthcare and Rehab in Lamar. Mike Gage will officiate. Burial will be in Memory Gardens.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Campbell; a sister, Hazel Brewer and brothers-in-law, Bill Foster and Lloyd Hoerning.

Mr. Campbell was born Dec. 13, 1929, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to John and Opal (Bishop) Campbell. He moved with his family to Missouri in 1948 and graduated that year from El Dorado Springs High School. Later he served in the United States Navy. In 1953 he went to work for the Missouri State Highway Department in the survey department. He continued in that career for 38 years, retiring in 1992.

He married LeAnn Foster on June 12, 1955, at Cabool. He was an accomplished woodworker and made many furnishings for their home. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Lamar, where he served many years as a deacon, elder, Sunday school teacher and leader of youth groups. He was on the Koinonia Christian Campus Ministry Board at Missouri Southern State University for 21 years. He and his wife were Volunteer Ombudsman at Truman Healthcare ad Rehab for more than 25 years. He was a member of the Association of Missouri State Employees and an associate member of Barton County Retired Educators.
