Mrs. Heiskell was born June 26, 1935, in Lamar, the youngest of the 12 children of Elvage and Effie (Glenn) Duncan. A lifelong area resident, she graduated from Golden City High School in 1954. In addition to being a devoted pastor's wife, mother and grandmother, she was a natural, nurturing caregiver for family and friends. Many will remember her as their Stanley Products representative and her smile of greeting at a multitude of worship gatherings through the years. She was a woman of great faith who supported her husband and ministered to others through word and deed. A hospitable homemaker, she loved to bake, enjoyed growing beautiful flower gardens, cherished time spent with family and memories made over games of Skip-Bo with her grandchildren.
She married Norman Heiskell on May 27, 1956, at Carthage and they recently celebrated 60 years of growing together in the Lord.
