DON WHITE

LAMAR-Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Daniel Funeral Home for Donald “Don” Edward White, 68, Lamar, who died Thursday, June 23, 2016, at Barton County Memorial Hospital. Burial will be at Nigh Cemetery.

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Tuesday, beginning at 1 p.m.

Contributions may be made to the Don White family, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Kay White; a son, Donald White and wife Jennifer, Lamar; two daughters, Katrina Aldridge and husband Keith, Lamar and Melinda Hanna and husband Ronald, Joplin; one sister, Olthea June Stapp, Greenfield; six grandchildren, Dustin Rogers-White and wife DeAnna, Joy K. Aldridge, Mary Lynn Aldridge, Tyler James White, Skyler Michael White and Matthew Ryan Hanna; one great-grandchild on the way and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Francis Eugene White and two sisters, Pauline Bruffey and Virginia Rudisill.

Mr. White was born Nov. 15, 1947, at Arcola, to Parker and Mary Ella (Patton) White. He was a 1965 graduate of Lamar High School and received an associate degree from Drury College. In addition to a 35-year career with Lamar City Water Department, he had worked for short periods of time at the Lamar Democrat, Barton County Ambulance and O'Sullivan Industries. He gave back to his community through his 45 years of service as a Lamar volunteer fireman and was a representative for Missouri Water & Waste Water Management for nine years. He was a member of Full Gospel Church of Lamar.

He married Mary Kay Rogers on Dec. 23, 1976 and together they reared three children.
