LAMAR-Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 2, at Lamar Family Ministries for Joan Elayne Baslee, 68, Lamar, who died Tuesday, June 28, 2016.

Arrangements were under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home.

Donations may be made to Lamar Family Ministries, Gideon's International or Maple Grove Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband, Teal Baslee; two sons, Kevin and wife Julie, Lamar and Craig and wife Rebekah, Neosho; four grandchildren, Jenna Baslee, Taylor Pritchard, Grant Baslee and Carter Baslee; a brother, Gene Banwart and wife Linda, Liberal and a sister, Gail Strahm and husband Phil, Glenrose, Texas.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Landon Baslee.

Mrs. Baslee was born Feb. 8, 1948, in Lamar, to Arthur and Ruth (Miller) Banwart. She attended school in Lamar, then attended Liberal High School, graduating at the top of her class in 1966. She graduated from Mt. Carmel School of Nursing in 1969. She worked at Dade County Hospital and Barton County Memorial Hospital as an RN.

She had many hobbies, she raised dogs, enjoyed gardening, embroidery and writing poetry. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She attended Lamar Family Ministries.

She married Teal Baslee on June 10, 1972, in Jerico Springs.
