LOCKWOOD-Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, at Maple Grove Cemetery for Albert Curtis Queen, 87, Lockwood, who died Friday, July 1, 2016, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home.

Arrangements were under the direction of Lockwood Funeral Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the New Life Baptist Church in Sylvania.

Survivors include his wife, Leota Queen, of the home; two sons, Lennis Queen and wife Cheryl, Lockwood and Mike Queen and wife Lisa, Lockwood; one step-sister, Juleene; one sister-in-law, Gloria Queen, Carmichael, Calif.; three grandchildren, Tara Carrier and husband Harry, Tana Foster and husband Mike and Daniel Queen and wife Leah; 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Clifford Queen; a sister, Mary Margaret Mathis; two stepbrothers and three stepsisters.

Mr. Queen was born Jan. 11, 1929, to Sam and Grace Irene (Davis) Queen. Shortly after birth his mother passed away. He was reared by his aunt and uncle, Freeman and Waltzie Davis. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a lifetime farmer and a member of the New Life Baptist Church.

He married Leota Sorden on Nov. 6, 1950, in Golden City.
