GARY HACKLER

MCALESTER, Okla.-Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Bishop Chapel of Memories for Gary Lee Hackler, 66, McAlester, who died Saturday, July 23, 2016, at his home. Rev. Jerry Burnside will officiate. Burial will follow in Blanco Cemetery.
Pallbearers are his nephews, Greg Cuenod, Glen Hackler, Jr., Keaton Hackler, Buddy Hackler, Todd Hackler, Eric Hackler, Brett Baker and Talan King. Honorary pallbearers are Steven Hackler, Paul Hackler, Glen Hackler, Sr., Gene Hackler and David Cuenod.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Home.
Survivors include a son, Steven Hackler and wife Shauna and a granddaughter, Stasha Hackler, all of Liberal; a sister, Bea Cuenod and husband David, McAlester; three brothers, Paul Hackler and wife Paula, Tulsa, Glen Hackler and wife Beckie, McAlester and Gene Hackler and wife Paula, Poteau; nieces, Paula King, Sherry Cuenod, Dawn Baker, Tammie Hackler, Rachel Hackler, Jami Hackler and Heather Hackler; nephews, Greg Cuenod, Glen Hackler, Jr., Buddy Hackler, Todd Hackler, Eric Hackler, Brett Baker and Talan King and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul “Bud” Daniel Hackler and Lena Bell Hackler and an infant sister, Ruth Ann Hackler.
Mr. Hackler was born Feb. 23, 1950, in McAlester, to Paul Daniel “Bud” and Lena Bell (Kimbrell) Hackler. He was reared in Savanna and Tulsa. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked in construction as a carpenter for the Tulsa Carpenter's Union. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, watching westerns, car racing and sports.
