ROBERT “BOB” L. MYERS

ORONOGO-Robert “Bob” L. Myers passed away Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at Mercy Hospital, after six months of ill health.

Survivors include his wife, Zelma, of the home; his children, Michelle Wardlow and husband Steven, Jasper, Scott and Kathrine Myers, Jasper and Elizabeth Myers and John Ingham, Joplin; his siblings, Coweta Letterman, Joplin, Joetta Turley, Baxter Springs, Kan., Jeanette Rider, Lake Charles, La.; Larry Myers, Sarcoxie and Joyce Seidler, Houston, Texas; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, John Myers and one grandchild, Isaac Lehman.

Mr. Myers was born July 12, 1940, in Joplin, to Homer L and Myrtle (Barnett) Myers. He was a Joplin High School graduate. He served five years in the United States Army.

He married Zelma Estes on Feb. 17, 1962.

He worked for Tamko from 1964 to 1969, then worked as a heavy equipment operator for O.T. Estes and Sons from 1969-1989. He retired from Jasper County Road District in 2002. He and his wife retired from their dairy in 2010.
