A community Christmas dinner was served on Christmas Day, Sunday, Dec. 25, at the Lamar United Methodist Church Family Life Center. The dinner is a joint endeavor among many in the community, with the emphasis of ensuring that everyone has a hot meal on Christmas. This was the 25th year for the project. Pictured are just a few of the many volunteers that helped to make the project the success that it was. This year alone, 50 volunteers helped to prepare 33 turkeys, 25 hams, 220 pounds of potatoes, over 20 gallons of gravy and 32 gallons of green beans, and that was just part of what was served. There were 440 meals delivered or prepared for carry-out, with 180 dining at the church.
