LAMAR-A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Paradise Cemetery, near Jasper, for Wayne Allan “Winnie” Wilson, 57, Lamar, who died Monday evening, Feb. 13, 2017, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin. Visitation will be held prior to the graveside service, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Daniel Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Janice, of the home; a son, Joshua Davis, Carthage; two daughters, Annie States and husband T.J., Wichita, Kan. and Megan VanGilder and husband Andy, Lamar; 11 grandchildren, Brynn and Olivia Fanning and Megan Wilson, of the home, Sage, Jonny and Braiden Davis, Elijah Kerr, Rylee VanGilder, Jackson and Saylor States and Alli Davis; a brother, Mike Wilson and wife Tammy, Jerico Springs and a nephew, Jonathan Wilson and wife Sarah.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Barry Wilson and a sister, Betty Wilson.

Mr. Wilson was born Nov. 29, 1959, in Broken Bow, Neb., to George and Josephine (Wright) Wilson. As a young child he moved with his family to Missouri and was a 1977 graduate of Sheldon High School. He was employed at O'Sullivan Industries in Lamar for many years before going to work for Schreiber Foods in Carthage in 2005. His free time was spent with family, his close friends in the Brotherhood of Bikers and his dog, Patches. He created great family memories with meals prepared on the grill or smoker and time shared watching good ole-time western movies.

He married the love of his life, Janice, on June 30, 1998, at Estes Park, Colo.
