ALICE OVERSTREET

LIBERAL- Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Konantz Warden Funeral Home in Lamar for Alice Overstreet, 96, a former Liberal resident who died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, at Grove, Okla. Burial was in Liberal City Cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters, Pat Thomas and husband Roy, Carthage and Linda Kimmie and husband Al, Grove, Okla.; three grandchildren and their families, Mike and Tara Thomas, Ethan, Karly and Macy, Carthage, Dee Ann and Doug Miller, Katie and Grant, Webb City and April and Shawn Wheeler, Jessica and Alexis, Muskogee, Okla.; three step-grandchildren and their families; one sister, Helen Marlow and husband Howard, Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Katie Richmond, Liberty and Nadine Overstreet, Lamar and a brother-in-law, Clem Prettyman, Joplin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, in October 2012; two brothers, Lloyd and Bill Richmond and four sisters, Roma Charlton, Muriel Peterson, Sherry Kaye Prettyman and an infant sister, Ruby Richmond.

Mrs. Overstreet was born Nov. 29, 1920, to Emmett Francis and Sadie Belle (Talbott) Richmond. She married Charles Overstreet in 1938. She was a lifelong member of the Liberal community until 2004, when she and her husband moved to Carthage. In 2014 she moved to Grove, Okla.

Mrs. Overstreet had been very active while in the Liberal community and with the Liberal Christian Church, where she was a member for many years.
