MARGARET BOWMAN

LIBERAL- A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Barton City Cemetery for Margaret May Bowman, 89, formerly of Liberal, who died Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, at the Oake Pointe assisted living facility in Kearney. Pastor Randy Sprenkle will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home, Lamar.

Survivors include a sister, Betty Schaffhausen; two brothers, Gene Truskett and wife Helen and Dave Truskett and wife Gerri and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Bowman.

Mrs. Bowman was born June 27, 1927, in Liberal, to Lonnie and Zola May (Brooks) Truskett. She attended several rural schools and graduated from Liberal High School. She worked and retired after 30 years for Montgomery Wards as a secretary at their headquarters in northeast Kansas City.

She married Lewis Charles Bowman in 1945 and they were married 71 years until he died in May of 2016.
