CLINT BUTLER

LAMAR- A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar for Harold Clinton “Clint” Butler, 85, Lamar, who died Monday, March 27, 2017, at Mercy McCune-Brooks Hospital in Carthage, following an aortic aneurism. Dr. Mark Turnbough will officiate.
Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lamar United Methodist Church or Barton County Senior Citizens Center, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Butler; a sister, Helen Gardner, Lamar; three sons, Larry Butler, West Fork, Ark., Stan Butler, Overland Park and Jon Butler, Naples, Fla. and six grandchildren, Bryan Butler, Tulsa, Okla., Zach Butler and fiance Chantal Womack, Cave Springs, Ark., Sarah Trapani and husband Daniel, Great Falls, Montana, Katie Bullock and husband Andrew, Tulsa, Okla., Aaron Butler, West Plains and Beau Butler, Naples, Fla.
He was preceded in death by a son, Brad Butler and a daughter, Pamela Butler.
Mr. Butler was born Oct. 4, 1931, in Fair Play, to Lester and Ethel (Jeffries) Butler. The family moved to Lamar in 1938 and he was a 1949 graduate of Lamar High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Betty Jane Norwood on May 9, 1951, in Lamar, where they reared their five children. He worked hard as a telephone and cable engineer for 31 years before moving to Fort Worth, Texas in 1982, where he bought and managed a telecommunications business, Plant Services Company.
He and his wife moved to Lamar in 2012 to be closer to their family. In addition to spending more time with family and extended family in Lamar, he enjoyed membership at Lamar United Methodist Church.
He was involved in Special Olympics, where his daughter Pammy was a participant. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed golfing and fishing all of his life. He was also gifted with a beautiful singing voice and performed at many weddings.
