MUSKOGEE, Okla.- A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Barton County, Mo., for Wiley Lucas Jr., 83, Muskogee, who died Friday, March 31, 2017, at Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center in Muskogee. Military honors will be conducted.
Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, Mo.
Contributions are suggested to the Wounded Warriors or Mt. Carmel Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include two sons, Doug Lucas and wife Jan, Jasper, Mo. and Larry Lucas, Kenoma, Mo.; four daughters, Susie Rennick and husband Jim, Poplar Bluff, Mo., Patty Ball and husband Larry, Lamar, Mo., Kay Wartick and husband John, Wilburton and Fay Long and husband Greg, Nevada, Mo.; a sister, Minnie Harmon and husband Jim, Mineola, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Michael Robyn, Billy, Chris, Josh, Stephen, Lisa, Dusty, Scott and Ellie; 12 great-grandchildren, Zackary, Matthew, Levi, Angel, Jemma, Jassen, Christopher Jr., Brittany, Hannah, Jackson, Wyatt and Parker Grace and five great-great-grandchildren, Ember Lynn, Hazel Lynn, Jaden, Sophie and J.D.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Lucas; three sisters, Lucille Little, Katherine Robinson and Margaret Wilborn; one grandson, Jason Lucas; a great-granddaughter, Leslie Dawn Ball and a great-grandson, Johnathan Hamlett.
Mr. Lucas was born May 29, 1933, in Saratoga, Miss., to Wiley Leroy Lucas Sr. and Molly (Thompson) Lucas. After high school he served his country in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1967. He was a farmer, an MP and trained police dogs in the Air Force, was the chief of police in Gwinn, Mich. for 10 years, raised horses and showed mules. He was also able to travel to every state in his lifetime.
