IRMA J. FREEZE

LIBERAL- Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Konantz Warden Funeral Home in Lamar for Irma J. Freeze, 83, Liberal, who died Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin. Pastor Elvin Winans will officiate. Burial will be in Liberal City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

Survivors include three sons, Randy Freeze and wife Teresa, Liberal, George Freeze and wife Jane, Ft. Scott, Kan. and John Freeze and wife Lee Ann, Lehi, Utah; three daughters, Linda McKay and husband Tom, Liberal, LuAnne Crocker and husband Paul, Liberal and Carol Brizendine and husband Mark, Norborne; three brothers, Bob, Ronald and Billy Dickey; a sister, Pat Venable; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amy Wiles; a daughter-in-law, Lucille Freeze; four brothers, Eldon, Dean, Tommy and Keith and three sisters, Wanda, Peggy and Judy.
Mrs. Freeze was born Jan. 5, 1934, in rural Barton County, near Liberal, to Elbert and Thelma (Hersh) Dickey. She married Fred Freeze on April 13, 1953, in Bentonville, Ark. They made their home in Liberal where he worked for the City of Liberal. He died March 6, 1975.
Mrs. Freeze worked for almost 30 years for the hospital in Fort Scott, Kan., working her way up from housekeeping to surgical support aid before retirement.
