STEELVILLE- Please join Mary Roberts Roper's family for a celebration of her life beginning with a 1 p.m. visitation on Saturday, May 13, at Britton-Bennett Funeral Home, 110 Cedar St., Steelville, with service to follow at 1:30 p.m. A joyful gathering will be held immediately following at the Frisco's Grill & Pub, 121 S. Smith St., Cuba, Mo.

Mary's family will lay her to rest by her much loved parents and brother prior to visitation.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lamar United Methodist Church, whose members were so welcoming to the Roper family when we moved to Lamar; the Steelville Cemetery Association, PO Box 33, Steelville, MO 65565, which restores veterans and older graves or The Crossing Church, 3615 Southland Dr., Columbia, MO 65201, which brought the love and joy of Christian fellowship to Mary in her later years. Mary Roberts Roper was born February 26, 1918 and went peacefully to the Lord on January 26, 2017, a month shy of 99! She loved her years teaching math at Lamar High School.
