LAMAR- Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Daniel Funeral Home for Nadine Stansberry, 96, Lamar, who died Sunday, April 30, 2017, at Truman Healthcare Center. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Lamar United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her children, Patty Lowery and husband Bob, Nevada, Mo., Bruce Stansberry and wife Laverne, Independence and Suzanne Wirth and husband Jim, Lamar. She reared two of her nine grandchildren, Paige Zahorik (and husband Scott) and Jason Stansberry (and wife Rachel), and was affectionately known as Grammy to Kirk Lowery, Becky Lowery, Brittany Stansberry, Brian Wirth, Michael Wirth and wife Jeni, Christopher Stansberry and Nicholas Stansberry and 15 great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a brother, Gene Harris and wife Opal, Golden City; a sister, Dorothy Wirth and husband Wesley, Golden City; a sister-in-law, Jonni Harris, Jasper; numerous nieces and nephews and a large extended family.

She was preceded in death by a son, Tom Stansberry; a granddaughter, Robyn Lowery; two brothers, Leland and George Harris and a sister, Leta Belle Moore.

Mrs. Stansberry was born Sept. 1, 1920, in Kenoma, to Lester and Fern (Nall) Harris. She married Clark Stansberry on Aug. 24, 1940, at Lamar and they made their home and reared their four children in Barton County. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1981.

In addition to being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her own family, Mrs. Stansberry was a nurturing child care provider in Lamar for 10 years and will be remembered as “Grandma” to a large number of children. She had been a member of Mt. Carmel Methodist Church and was active in Lamar United Methodist Church after moving to town.
